Acts 8

Scripture:  Acts 8:31 (NIV)

Highlight:

”How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?”  So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Explain:

An angel of the Lord had commanded Philip to travel in a certain direction. As he was traveling, he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in that area.  The man was reading from the prophet of Isaiah.  Philip heard the man as he was reading, and he asked him did he understand what he was reading.  The eunuch responded with the highlighted verse.

Apply:

There are many people that we come in contact today that may have the same response as the Ethiopian eunuch.  How many people that we come in contact with really know the true meaning of what Jesus did for them on the cross?  How many of these co-workers, friends, parents of kids on our kids’ soccer or dance teams, or random people that we meet in a Walmart or Panera Bread may just need someone to “sit down” with them to explain God’s love for them?

Respond:  Lord, please help me to be conscious of the needs around me. Please allow me to have opportunities with people that I come in contact with to “sit down” and share with them what you have done for them and for me.  Please help me not to be so busy that I miss the opportunities that you may provide to me.
